The Sense can…sense what grind range you’ve set the grinder in, and adjusts its touchscreen interface and programming to match—Red for espresso grinds, Blue for moka pots and other fine grind methods, and Green for filter brewing. The espresso grind range gets 2 programmable doses and a manual grind option, while moka and filter ranges get 3 doses each. Grind settings are easily repeatable thanks to the Sense’s micro-step grind adjust and clear markings. This grind adjustment system pairs well with Fiorenzato’s 64mm ‘Dark-T’ coated burrs, which do an admirable job at grinding across ranges and promise extended service life thanks to their titanium-based coating. Other barista-focused features include a sound-insulated case for quieter grinding, tool-free access to the burrs for cleaning, and a just-right half-pound hopper capacity for everyday use.
