Description
The Black Box KVXLCHF-200 is a fiber based KVM extender kit that lets you operate a computer or server from as far as 30 kilometers away while maintaining 4K image quality. The kit sends HDMI video with a resolution of 3840×2160 at 30 Hz along a single mode or multi mode fiber optic link, and it also carries keyboard, mouse, USB 2.0, audio, and RS-232 signals in the same run. A loopback video port on the transmitter lets you keep a local monitor at the computer side for convenient troubleshooting or mirrored viewing.
Operators in transportation control centers, hospital imaging suites, manufacturing floors, or secure command rooms can place noisy or sensitive computers in a climate controlled equipment rack and interact with them from a quiet workstation. The transparent USB 2.0 path accepts standard HID devices such as keyboards, mice, or touchscreens, and it also works with mass storage drives when files need to move quickly between locations. Bi-directional audio supports headsets or speakers for voice prompts, and the RS-232 channel can trigger automation equipment or diagnostic consoles.
Installation is straightforward thanks to EDID pass-through, which allows the extender to read the monitor’s capabilities and set the correct resolution automatically. The kit meets TAA requirements for government projects, and Black Box backs it with free lifetime technical support, so you can deploy the link with confidence in both public and private installations.
